Most of you know that my publishing journey has not been an easy one. There’s been a lot of disappointment and heart ache surrounding my debut novel, PRETTY DARK NOTHING and its sequel. Despite all the bumps in the road, I refuse to quit. Writing is my passion and my calling.
To all my artist and writing friends who feel like they want to give up. Don’t!!! You never know where the journey is going to take you. Keep creating. Focus, not on getting an agent or being published, but on the joy of the art. Let everything else fall away. Then, when you least expect it, good things will happen.
I wrote the first draft of this little book 15 years ago! I had given up on it after the dumpster fire that was my first publisher finally gave me the rights back, but, here we are, 7 years after it was first published and it’s getting another chance to reach readers. Thank you to my Czech Republic publisher who pursued me despite all the odds, to my agent for continuing to believe in me, and to all my friends and family who encourage me to keep putting pen to paper.
